The Breakup Notifier has received a lot of attention in the last days. Depending on your viewpoint, it's a really neat or really scary app that sends you notifications when the relationship status of your Facebook friends changes. I don't believe it provides a lot of actual value, but it makes for a good story to talk about the "codification" of social relationship on platforms such as Facebook.
